 Beach clean-up “Wow, why are there so many garbage here?” I stood on the beach , looking at the ground, I almost had no words, from the moment we stepped into the beach, we saw tons of trash already. “But when we looked at here from there, we didn’t see these” I said. I was immersed in my thoughts, that’s when one of my friends called me, “Hey, hurry up, we have to do this” I slowly took our my clippers, and bent down, “This wasn’t what I expected.... Wow, this is unbelievable” i clipped a straw, looked at it, and put it in my bag. From straws to cigarettes, packaging thermochol to even broken glass bottles, looking at these trash made me feel sick, what has the ocean do to you, that we have to throw trash over it’s body? I looked at the ground, saw little crabs and sea creatures, and thought,” these crabs have nothing to do with us, but their life is harmed too.” I was too surprised even for words, we even saw money and a huge piece of thermochol. Fishing nets took the biggest part, cigarettes too, it’s easy to throw trash, but it’s difficult to clean them up. Our class bent down to pick up trash, but whatever how we try to do it faster, there is always more trash on the ground. Our beach cleaning area wasn’t big either, but the amount of trash we picked up from that area, was beyond compare. After we picked up trash from the beach, we went back, but since we have our clippers with us, whenever we saw trash on the roads, we got our clippers and picked it up. Mostly we got cigarettes, surprisingly, I didn’t see any tissue papers on the beach. That was unexpected.... After we separated all the trash, we saw that most of it was used cigarettes and straws. Each and every bag we had, at least all of them had 1 kilogram of trash. I didn’t notice the total but as expected, it was A LOT. We discussed about the weird kind of trash people found on the beaches after cleaning. It was really weird that people found syringes on the beach. And as a conclusion, I wish people would stop polluting and make the right choices to deal with trash. Let’s make the world a better place to live in!
